INCOMPETENCE TAKEN TO A NEW LEVEL

THIS IS IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE I AM SCREAMING!!!! I AM SO ANGRY I AM LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO PUNCH. Got to our app at 8am and signed in. No one around. Some lackey finally shows up at the desk about 8:20 picks up my sheet and starts shaking her head as she gets on the computer screen. I become suspicious. 8:30, another lackey, who knows nothing, comes out and says that we could not have an app for today because Dr. Smith is out of the country. I tell lackey that we have had this scheduled for over 6 weeks. She calls Dr. Smith's nurse, who is somewhere in Houston making her way in to work, late because he is not in. Nurse says she will be there at 9 to help me figure this out, it is now 8:45 so I agree to wait. 9:15, no nurse, ask original lackey where she is. No response. 9:30 as I am requesting Mel's medical records from lackey #1 who can't give them to me....Nurse shows up. I let nurse know (as politely as possible) but in no uncertain terms that this is very frustrating and unacceptable. This is in addition to letting her know that there was NO communication from her or Dr. Smith to let me know the results of her CT scan. Still trying to be polite, I tell her I want Mel's records and I want to see the CT report. Nurse gets on computer, prints out CT results and says "perhaps I can work you in next Thursday", I am again suspicious because it took me nearly 8 freaking weeks to get this app. She goes to another screen and says,"Oh, I see the note where you called and it says she told you that you were scheduled for NEXT Thursday, July 2 at 8am. I told her, trying to keep my blood pressure under 200, that I DO NOT make those kind of mistakes, that I wrote it on my calendar in Mel's room as I was on the phone with the person doing the scheduling and I always repeat it back to be certain I have it right, especially with this person because she sounded so frazzled when I spoke with her. I also told her they had a serious problem with this person because on May 7 when we were there we watched a similar scenario play out with a man from El Paso who had flown in for an app they had made for him and HIS doctor was out of town. Same clinic, different doctor. I got a printed copy of the CT but could not get her full record because I was told I would have to go to medical records to do that and I was in no mood. She also could not find any lab report on the stone I left with him. Probably tossed stone in the trash after I left. She said she was sorry for mix up and I didn't say anything else except for thanks for the report. If all else fails, make the patient look stupid. I KNOW I HAD THE RIGHT DATE AND TIME! Her suggestion that she would work me in next Thursday made me suspicious and then when she "just HAPPENED" to see the note that said we were scheduled for that day already.......what else could I do........sure made me look stupid. I had no way of proving my case so I just gave up. Never mind the fact that I canceled therapies and had to get Mel up at 5:30 after she had not slept all night, get her dressed and leave the house at 7 so I would not be late. Once again, made to feel like a victim, no control, only a weak apology and then the tables are turned to make me look like I was the one in the wrong. I am so frustrated, this is just another example of incompetence in the medical realm.Really makes me look forward to dealing with more doctors! Don't worry, my blood pressure is slowly coming down. I think I will be looking for another urologist though. Did not cancel that app. on July 2 but doubt seriously if I will be keeping it. I have lost all faith that I can rely on anything they do or even if they will ever communicate the results in the future. No one in that office acted like they really gave a D---.

On a lighter note. Thanks for the sweet thoughts. I read them before we left the house this morning and they made me smile. Nice to know my prayer warriors "have my back" :-)
