We got back from vacation on Saturday Aug 1. On Monday, August 3, Courtney, and Geoff flew to Sacramento to pick up Geoff’s dad so he could spend the week with us. See Tiffany’s blog for some awesome pictures of jet and passengers. It was wonderful to see him since it had been over a year since we has been together. On Tuesday August 4 I began a 3 day series of minor surgical procedures on my legs. I have been hiding horrific varicose veins under my slacks for years, never wearing shorts (even on vacations in 106 plus temperatures) and definitely not wearing bathing suits. I finally got brave enough to begin to correct this. So I went for three days and had my legs numbed from ankle to groin and had one of the main veins in both legs lasered closed to keep the blood from pooling in the varicose veins. Geeee that sure was fun…..NOT. Now I am wearing my wonderful “grannie compression stockings” ( NO there will be no pictures of that thank you) for a month until we go in and take out the veins that stay dilated due to all those years of all that pooling. Too much information? I thought so…….. Just trying to let you know where I have been and why I have not posted. Again, we enjoyed Geoff’s dad’s company until Aug 8 when Geoff, Kim, and Tiffany flew him back to Sacramento. Can’t wait to have him back!

Yep, that definitely hurt a little to read (ouch!), but parading around in your shorts again will make it all so very worth it!! It was either that, or move to Alaska!! :)

bless your heart! my mom has the same issue and it just appears to be so painful! congratulations for getting up the courage to fix it! you will be so happy that you did! can't wait to see pictures of your "new" legs in those shorts next summer...or this winter? : )

It's so great to get an update from you!!! I enjoyed Tiff's pictures of Grandpa Robb's visit!!! They were traveling in style, what an awesome plane! :) I'm glad your leg surgery went well, and I hope everything heals well and you're in shorts in no time! :)
I feel your pain...I had that done on my right leg. For some reason I don't have any varicose veins on my left, only my right. I was one of the lucky ones who got my first varicose at 18....thanks to genetics :)
Hope you are feeling better soon. Those granny hose are horrible and HOT!!
